Day 3: São Paulo - Paraty
Private transport with air conditioning from the hotel to Paraty with a local driver. 4 to 5-hour drive on a sealed road along the Green Coast, a vegetation corridor between ocean and mountains.

Day 4: Paraty
At 09:00am, the captain will drive you to the pier to board a private craft, a fishing boat adapted for the tour (benches and cushions, cooler…). Day in the Bay of Paraty, traveling from an island to another and a beach to another. Stops planned on different sites suitable for swimming or snorkeling among hundreds of fishes (mask and snorkel included): ilha Comprida, saco da Velha, praia Vermelha... Return to Paraty around 04:00pm / 05:00pm.

Day 5: Paraty
Starting at 10:30 am in private 4x4 vehicle with our English speaking guide to the mountainous hinterland of Paraty, in the National Park of Serra da Bocaina. Duration of 6h.
This region can join only by a dirt track , which was until the 70s the only land route from Paraty to the world.
Abanonée today in favor of the coastal road , this road takes us through the dense green landscape of the Atlantic Forest ( the " Mata Atlantica ") to the waterfall " Pena Branca " . A good oportunity to observe different species of birds in the region and also to be in direct contact with nature. After a few minutes walk we visit the waterfall " Poco Do Inglês ". Then we will follow direction of the village Penha, to visit the waterfalls "Toboga" and "Poco do Tarzan". During the walk, we observe different types of plants such as bamboo, poppy, bromeliads, among others. All waterfalls are ideal for swimming.
We will also visit the Distillery "Pedra Branca", where we will have the opportunity to know the artisan method of making the "cachaça", with the possibility of tasting the product. We'll know also the "Casa de Farinha" where cassava is processed into flour.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant (not included).
The last stop is to visit an exhibition of bromeliads. A place of rare beauty and very exotic, with more than 400 different types of bromeliads and orchids.
Back Paraty to the end of the day.

Day 6: Paraty - Rio De Janeiro - Corcovado - Copacabana
Leave from hotel at the time you want (to advise) to go to Rio de Janeiro in a private vehicle with air conditioning.
At 14:00pm, your English-speaking guide will meet you at the hotel. Climb to the Corcovado, worldly known symbol of Rio. The ascent to 700 meters above sea level will be done by train. Once at the summit, take the time to appreciate the unique and wonderful panoramic view of the "cidade maravilhosa" (wondrful city). Rio will spread under your feet, majestic and calm. This outstanding viewpoint will give you a better understanding of the physical and "social" topography of the town. Return to the hotel at 01:00pm.

Day 7: Rio De Janeiro - Historical Center - Sugarloaf Mountain - Copacabana
At 09:00am you will meet your English-speaking guide for a private visit of Rio’s city center, from a colossal avenue framed by imposing glass buildings to quaint, small streets and their little affordable shops. Many styles, one spirit, is the best definition to describe the architectural cocktail of the center, where past and modernism coexist in harmony. Among the possible visits (to be coordinated with the guide depending on opening times, your centers of interest, or eventual manifestations organized that day): Imperial Municipal (replicate of the Opera Garnier in France), foundation Banco do Brasil, casa da França (old custom house), national History museum, largo da Carioca, convento Santo Antônio, metropolitan cathedral, plaza Tiradentes...
In the afternoon, take the cable cart to the summit of the Sugarloaf (el. 400 m.a.s.l.), another Rio´s symbol which marks the entrance of the Bay of Guanabara.
Return to the hotel at 05:00pm.

Day 8: Rio De Janeiro - Ipanema - Rio De Janeiro - Salvador
Your english speaking guide will pick you up at 09:00am at the hotel.
After a short transfer to Ipanema, you will get your bikes for a half day discovery of the south area of Rio. The tour will firstly follow a biking track on the lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas´s banks (7.5 km circumference) just behind Ipanema (option to visit the Catacumba park, a nice park with modern sculptures).
Then you will follow the Leblon and Ipanema beaches, crowded in summer but quieter the rest of the year. You can take a break for a swim in the sea then enjoy the viewing point in arpoador, the rock marking the end of the beach.
A short distance to bike and you will be in Copacabana (option to visit the Copacabana fort, entrance fee not included).
Return the bikes late in the morning and return to the hotel.

Day 9: Salvador
Meet at the hotel at 09:00am with your English-speaking guide for the discovery of the area best representing the heart and soul of Salvador.
With the influences of its African origins, the city has built a unique identity in Latino America, with a daily life animated by capoeira rythms and the religious festivities of the candomblé.
In the morning, visit the lower parts of town. Start with the farol (lighthouse) da Barra, a lonely guard at the entrance of the all saints bay, built under the order of Tomé de Souza, the first gobernador of Salvador.
Then you will head to the port area and visit the Sao Joaquim market, an authentic bahianan market. You will continue to the north and stop at the Bonfim church where you can admire an impressive ex votos collection showing the popular devotion to the Senhor do Bonfim in the "miracles room".
The visit will then take you to Ribeira, a always animated popular area. In the morning with the shouting merchants, at midday for lunch (moqueca specialty, a kind of fish and sea-fruit stew) and the night for dancing.
After lunch, visit of the higher parts of town, with the Pelourinho histrorical area. Its prestigious architectural ensemble was renovated in its original bright colors and has superb colonial houses and many baroque churches. The visit (by foot) will start in the capoieira fort where you will enjoy a wonderful scenic view over the bay.
You will ten walk up the rua do carmo until the convento do Carmo (a convent transformed in a luxurious hotel), The visit will be followed with the jewel workshop D'Klays, the house/museum Jorge Amado and the shiny Sao Francisco church with its surprising azuleiros frescos.
You will finish the afternoon at the base of the Lacerda elevador, the crossing of the lower and upper parts of the city, with a shopping time at the Mercado Modelo.
Return to the hotel at the end of the day.

Day 10: Salvador - Recôncavo - Salvador
Departure at 09:00am, in a private vehicle, with your English-speaking guide to go to Cachoeira, one of the colonial pearls of the North East, two hours away from Salvador (110 km). Shortly after leaving you will drive inland and start to feel the typical ambiance of the Recôncavo Baiano. This wealthy agricultural area was one of the first in Brazil to be colonized and exploited by the Portuguese. On your way to Cachoeira, you will cross sugar cane, manioc and tobacco plantations, some of which being many centuries old.
You will stop in Santo Amaro, the birth town of the musician Caetano Veloso, where you can visit the local market.
Your guide will make you discovering the rich historical past of the town of Cachoeira, which was for a time the capital of the state of Bahia, and included among its inhabitants some famous people like Anastacia, symbol of the slave resistance, or Ana Neri, one of the pioneers of humanitarian work.
You will then cross the Rio Paraguaçu to walk through the narrow streets of São Felix, across the river from Cachoeira. Visit of the Dannemann cigar factory, over two centuries old.
Return to Salvador at the end of the day.
Note: Museums are closed on Sundays and the cigar factory on Mondays and Sundays – there is a cattle market on Saturdays.

Day 11: Salvador - Morro de São Paulo
Transfer to the pier and departure (crossing in a catamaran without guide). The Bay of Todos os Santos and the high areas of Salvador will disappear from view. After a 2-hour cruise, you will enter the narrow sand streets of Morro de São Paulo, with houses hanging from a tiny rock, animated day and night.
City tax and luggage carriage on the island are not included.
