Spend Christmas Day and New Year's Eve in Rio. First, you will get to explore the Costa Verde and its fabulous landscapes going on a boat trip around the different islands and beaches. The next day, you will drive around the National Park of Serra da Bocaina through the Mata Atlantica - Atlantic Rainforest. Then, you will head to Rio and all the wonders it has to offer such as Copacabana beach, the historical center, the Christ the Redeemer Statue, the Sugarloaf Mountain and many more. Finally, New Year's Eve will offer you an amazing fireworks spectacle on the beach of Copacabana where Brazilians dress in white to welcome the New Year.

TRAVEL BOOK
Day 1: Rio De Janeiro - Paraty
Pick up at the airport (flight time and number to be confirmed) and transfer to Paraty by private vehicle with air conditionning. It will be 4 ½-hour drive on a sealed road along the Green Coast, the vegetation corridor between ocean and mountains.
Night at the pousada Pardieiro (breakfast included). Standard room.

Day 2: Paraty
At 09:00am, the captain will drive you to the pier to board a private craft, a fishing boat adapted for the tour (benches and cushions, cooler…). Day in the Bay of Paraty, traveling from an island to another and a beach to another. Stops planned on different sites suitable for swimming or snorkeling among hundreds of fishes (mask and snorkel included): ilha Comprida, saco da Velha, praia Vermelha... Return to Paraty around 04:00pm / 05:00pm.

Day 3: Paraty
Starting at 10:30 am in private 4x4 vehicle with our English speaking guide to the mountainous hinterland of Paraty, in the National Park of Serra da Bocaina. Duration of 6h.
This region can join only by a dirt track , which was until the 70s the only land route from Paraty to the world.
Abanonée today in favor of the coastal road , this road takes us through the dense green landscape of the Atlantic Forest ( the " Mata Atlantica ") to the waterfall " Pena Branca " . A good oportunity to observe different species of birds in the region and also to be in direct contact with nature. After a few minutes walk we visit the waterfall " Poco Do Inglês ". Then we will follow direction of the village Penha, to visit the waterfalls "Toboga" and "Poco do Tarzan". During the walk, we observe different types of plants such as bamboo, poppy, bromeliads, among others. All waterfalls are ideal for swimming.
We will also visit the Distillery "Pedra Branca", where we will have the opportunity to know the artisan method of making the "cachaça", with the possibility of tasting the product. We'll know also the "Casa de Farinha" where cassava is processed into flour.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant (not included).
The last stop is to visit an exhibition of bromeliads. A place of rare beauty and very exotic, with more than 400 different types of bromeliads and orchids.
Back Paraty to the end of the day.

Day 5: Rio De Janeiro - Corcovado - Tijuca Forest - Sugarloaf Mountain - Copacabana
At 09:00am start a city tour with your english speaking guide, firstly going up to the Corcovado (el. 700 m.a.s.l.), worldly known symbol of Rio. Once up there, take the time to appreciate the unique and amazing panoramic view of the "cidade maravilhosa" (wonderful city).
Then transfer to the Tijuca national park in the centre of Rio. This oasis of vegetation of 3,200 hectares is the biggest urban forest in the world and is he best opportunity to hike both "around" and "in" Rio. You will pass through the "vista chinesa" and the "mesa do Imperador" which are great viewing points of the city.
Later, take the cable cart to the summit of the Sugarloaf (el. 400 m.a.s.l.), another Rio´s symbol which marks the entrance of the Bay of Guanabara. Return to the hotel at 05:00pm.
Option: Helicopter flight of a few minutes from the mirador of Sugar Loaf (book on site).

Day 6: Rio De Janeiro - Historical Center - Botanic Garden - Copacabana
At 9:00am you will meet your English-speaking guide for a private visit of Rio’s city center, from a colossal avenue framed by imposing glass buildings to quaint, small streets and their little affordable shops. Many styles, one spirit, is the best definition to describe the architectural cocktail of the center, where past and modernism coexist in harmony. Among the possible visits (to be coordinated with the guide depending on opening times, your centers of interest, or eventual manifestations organized that day): Imperial Municipal (replicate of the Opera Garnier in France), foundation Banco do Brasil, casa da França (old custom house), national History museum, largo da Carioca, convento Santo Antônio, metropolitan cathedral, plaza Tiradentes...
In the afternoon, you will visit with the impressive botanical garden, proudness of the cariocas. Each of the 141 hectares of the park hosts species of the brazilian and world flora. The imperial palm trees, main attraction of the garden, were seeded under the order of the regent prince Dom Joao VI in 1809. centenary trees, orchids, vtorias regia, bromeliads, flamboyants in an atmosphere filled with tropical scents.
Free time to wander to your own pace between the water ponds and to enjoy the freshness and peacefulness of the place.
Return to the hotel at 05:00pm.

Day 7: Niterói - Rio De Janeiro - Copacabana
At 09:00am, your English-speaking guide will meet you at the hotel. After crossing the President Costa e Silva bridge (over 13 km in length) linking Rio to Niteroi, you will start the visit by a walk near the fort, from where you can enjoy a great view of the Guanabara Bay and the Sugarloaf, its colossal guardian.
Visit of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), famous for its original architecture (the work of Oscar Niemeyer, emblematic architect of Brazil since his implication in the construction of Brasilia). Permanent and varied exhibitions, but always… surprising. Finish in beauty with a walk in the Park da Cidade to enjoy the outstanding view of Rio de Janeiro, on the other side of the Bay.
Return to the hotel at 01:00pm.
Note: excursion of 3 to 4 hours best recommended in the morning.
Recommended for lunch: Jurujuba. In this little fishing village, near the fort of Santa Cruz, you will find many typical restaurants. Fish and seafood are of course the specialty.
